SEA Mentorship Program

SEA Mentorship Program

Are you an early stage social entrepreneur? Is your social venture looking to grow and scale? Are you looking for guidance from an experienced social enterprise practitioner? Introducing SEA’s Mentorship Program, an initiative that gives members the opportunity to connect with seasoned, successful social enterprise leaders and business experts for advice, instruction and support.

As of 2019, we’ve made some adjustments to the program. Now, selected mentees will have the opportunity to build a relationship with their mentors through quarterly meetings for a full year.

If you participated in the first iteration of the Mentorship program (one session with a mentor), you are eligible to re-apply for the revamped program.

Testimonials

The mentorship program was one of the biggest SEA draws for me.  I was interested in learning from the perspective of seasoned social entrepreneurs and that’s exactly what I got with Liz Skalla.  No matter what I brought up, it seemed like she knew what I was going through. She was able to relate to the challenges of my social venture and provided concrete examples and suggestions about what helped her in her situations.  After our first meeting, I knew I had a better sense of direction and had options to implement in my own social enterprise.

Buddy of course is a great guy with great insight. But I gotta say I was amazed how even though we are working in pretty different industries using pretty different social enterprise models, he was able to cut right down to the essence of my mission, understand the challenges I am facing at this stage, and come up with 4 rock-solid, actionable items for me to pursue…Buddy’s mentoring was a huge factor in my personal growth, and hence the growth of our organization.

The session was both incredibly useful and enjoyable. My mentor was very knowledgeable about the space and the substantive topics that we discussed. She was able to shed new light on some of our big strategic questions and also provide concrete ideas and resources for further learning. A highly valuable experience I am very grateful for!
