Areas of Impact
Incorporated in 1956, ARC Broward is a private, 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization providing services to children and adults with autism, Down Syndrome, and other intellectual disabilities, as well as those with various life challenges. Over the years the agency expanded its reach and today provides a full range of supports and services to adults and children. The agency has established itself as a leading advocate helping shape funding and policy decisions at the State, local and federal levels for quality services to individuals with disabilities. We work hand in hand with families, businesses, civic and community organizations, and funders to provide opportunities that create life-changing outcomes so that people with disabilities and other life challenges can live, learn, work and play successfully in their communities.
ARC Broward is nationally accredited by CARF, Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission. We have been fortunate to have received the highest level of accreditation, the coveted 3 year award, continuously since 1991. Our current accreditation is for the time period of January 2016 through January 2019.
With a goal of ensuring that the organization has a stable financial foundation for its current operations and for the future, Arc Broward has created three social enterprises including the Arc Educates, Arc Culinary and Arc Tech. These forward thinking business enterprises provide employment and/or education & training and help generate funds to support critical programs and services offered by Arc Broward. The social enterprise concept embraces efforts that we have made to operate businesses that advance our social mission.
