After 35 years in marketing my 3rd career is in Development (fundraising and friend-raising) for not-for-profits.  This includes looking for products and services that can earn the organization income, therefore reducing the dependence on “traditional” fundraising, hence my strong support for the SEA approach.  Tried-and-true fundraising techniques are still employed to ensure sustainability of the organizational mission, as well as to connect people with a cause that is close to their hearts.
