Darryl Fuery is an Executive Chef and Corporate Caterer who consults, advises, and partners with business owners, aspiring restaurateurs, and other food service professionals to design kitchens and develop successful restaurant concepts. After 27 years of cooking and managing for multi-billion dollar companies such as Sodexo, Disney, and Aramark, Chef Fuery knows customer acquisition and retention, great client relationships, and quality ingredients are the cornerstones of sustainable food service.
His experience as an executive chef includes three years as chef of The Field Museum of Natural History. He also worked for four years at Amtrak, traveling the country on the train and visiting large and small cities, learning different regional cuisines and menus to add to his repertoire of recipes.
With a love for creating custom menus, Chef Fuery has opened Chef D’s Catering (1997), The Gourmet Café (2002), Homestyle Express (2004), Chicago Loop Catering (2008), and Praise Chicago (2014). In addition to his extensive restaurant and catering experience, Chef Fuery has spent the last decade developing restaurant training programs for at-risk youth in underserved food deserted neighborhoods in his hometown of Chicago. His goal is to train all his workers in self-empowerment to prevent poverty, homelessness, and crime through job creation in food service. He works with Teamwork Englewood, Greater Englewood CDC, and other local social service agencies to consult and train those wanting to work in the hospitality industry. Currently, Chef Fuery is a Trainer and Corporate Executive Chef for Wrigley Rooftops, an affiliate of the Chicago Cubs.
Chef Darryl is a graduate of CHIC-Le Cordon Bleu Chicago as well as a proud Whitney Young Dolphin and Illinois State Redbird.
