Christy Allen is Marketing Associate at CiTTA Partnership. She is an experienced writer and researcher who has published compelling B2B and B2C web copy, academic book chapters, and short stories. She believes strongly in the power of the pen to increase empathy, build community, and advance social justice. She is a lifelong activist, having volunteered for organizations like Amnesty International’s Refugee Network and the Inter-American Forum on Human Rights. Prior to her work at CiTTA, she taught sociology and qualitative research methods courses at DePaul University and universities in Canada and the United Kingdom. She holds a PhD in Sociology and a Master’s Degree in the Theory and Practice of Human Rights from the University of Essex, and a BA in English and Sociology from the University of Dayton. She is also an alumna of Simon Fraser University’s Writer’s Studio with a concentration in fiction.
