Tamra Ryan Named New SEA Board Chair Tamra Ryan delivers the keynote address at Summit15

Effective January 1st, Tamra Ryan will take the helm as chair of the Social Enterprise Alliance Board of Directors.

Tamra is the CEO of the Women’s Bean Project, a nationally-recognized social enterprise in Denver that provides chronically unemployed and impoverished women with job training through gourmet food and handmade jewelry manufacturing. She is also the author of “The Third Law,” which highlights the societal obstacles and internal demons that must be overcome for marginalized women to change their lives. The book was awarded the Axiom Business Book gold medal in the category of women/minorities in business.

As the leader of SEA’s rapidly-growing Colorado chapter, Tamra is integrally involved in her local social enterprise ecosystem, which hosted Summit15 in September. The convening brought together 425 participants in Denver for three days of speakers, workshops, social enterprise tours and more. Tamra also serves as Chapter Liaison to the SEA Board of Directors, facilitating communication between local chapter leaders and the national board.

  1. Congratulations Tamra! I was so inspired by your leadership and vision for SEA when we met in Sept. at the conference. I would appreciate your insight on how best to integrate the Social Enterprise “movement” into the Health Care Delivery System reform/transformation evolving across our country due to the Affordable Care Act. There are great opportunities to innovate and engage cross sectional work groups to get and keep people insured . I would welcome the opportunity to lead a work group in this area, but only met a one or two people working in this space while in CO. Could SEA help connect me/us to others in the health care delivery/ACO/Accountable Health Community space? I think the Social Enterprise model would be the Innovation we need. I’m only a one hour flight from TN….happy to be involved to support SEA.
